Microblading

Microblading is a semi permanent makeup technique used to create denseness in the eyebrows or to enhance definition without applying make-up everyday. This advanced technique is performed using a manual tool to apply pigment under the epidermis, creating individual hair strokes that look like natural hair.

If you are looking for natural eyebrows, microblading is suitable for you, Tattoo or ombre brows are stronger in look and more of a ‘make-up brow’.

Microblading is particularly suited to those who have thinning brows perhaps due to age or over plucking. If you have fuller brows but would like areas filled in, microblading is suitable for you too.

The colour we use for microblading is based on your natural eyebrow hair colour and mixed to suit your skin tone. We have a wide range of assorted colours so we can match your colour as closely as possible. As part of the healing process, the colour is expected to fade after your first treatment, and is corrected and reinforced with the top-up.

From start to finish, it is an 8-10 week process to get your desired result.

• Pay your deposit, have a patch test and complete the consultation form
• The initial procedure is completed - first we map out your eyebrows to create the desired shape and we then microblade
• A top-up procedure is completed 6-8 weeks after initial treatment to allow full healing
• Leave to heal for another two weeks

Microblading results can vary from person to person but generally the results last around 12 months. Below are a few examples that could potentially fade your ink prematurely:

• how well the aftercare is done
• skin type (oily skin doesn’t last as long for example)
• lifestyle
• sun/sunbed exposure
• medication

The initial microblading procedure, including a consultation, takes around 1.5-2 hours from start to finish. The top-up appointment takes around 1-1.5 hours.

The entire healing process takes around 6-8 weeks. You may notice some swelling immediately after your treatment but this should go down within 24 hours.

Scabbing is also a completely normal part of the healing process and it is important that you don’t pick! Read our microblading information pack for full details on what to expect during the healing process.

A free top-up is included as part of your treatment. This needs to be booked 6-8 weeks after your first treatment.

A free top-up is offered after the initial treatment because the pigment isn’t recognised in the skin the first-time round, as your skin thinks it’s a foreign body. The second time the pigment is implanted, the skin then recognises it and it will hold. The top-up is used to correct colour, shape and to reinforce the pigment. Without having the included top-up, you are having half a treatment.

You may need a colour boost from six months onwards. This helps to maintain a fresh, natural appearance.

It would be unethical if we said it was pain free. Everyone has different pain thresholds but it’ll all be worth it in the end! We do use numbing cream on the area to help with the pain.

Unfortunately not. A shape is drawn on to suit your bone structure and face shape.

A specific shape of brow is drawn on to suit your bone structure. However requirements such as how steep you want the arch, how long/thick you want your brows is factored into the shape design. Before any pigment is applied, you will need to agree to the shape. You shouldn’t feel like you can’t ask to change something - we encourage pickiness as we want them to be the perfect shape for you.

We can’t do home visits as we have to adhere to strict health and hygiene regulations.

No, the pigment isn’t implanted as deep as a traditional tattoo, therefore it’s classed as semi-permanent make-up. Also, it’s implanted using a hand-held tool.
